A Modern Fairy Tale Reflection

In unit 3, we have been looking at how the events of our past have shaped who we have become as a nation/society.  Write an insightful reflection about how classic stories continue to be reproduced for different audiences and purposes.  Be sure to answer the following questions in your reflection:

1)  Why do these literary archetypes keep appearing?
2)  Why are stories modernized?
3)  Why is crime and death continually taken out or changed (less violent) when sharing classical tales to children?
4)  Should such changes be made to classical stories?  Why/why not?
5)  What makes a story a classic?  Why are certain stories told over and over again?
6)  With where we are as a society today, how do you see classical stories like Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella being told to your children?
